Eva sætter sine egne karriereambitioner til side og fokuserer på sit nye familieliv. Hun føder sønnen Kevin, men forholdet mellem mor og søn er problematisk fra starten. Da Kevin bliver 15 år gammel, gør han noget, som er så irrationelt og utilgiveligt, at hele samfundet vender sig imod ham, imens Eva prøver at tackle sin sorg og skyldfølelse. Har hun nogensinde elsket sin søn? Og bærer hun en del af ansvaret for Kevins forfærdelige handlinger?
